As I write this blog, I sit in the dark. Not for melodramatic effect, but because the power is out. I’m using a word processor, and by the time this is posted, the power will have returned. It’s funny to see the reactions of people when conventional conveniences like electricity are taken away. As I write, the restlessness of the students is like a crescendo. This blog is short, and not about any particular topic. However, I do have a poem that suits the occasion……..bear with me, I’m no poet.
The moon is bright,
The stars as well.
Surrounded by darkness,
It seems like hell.
But if darkness is empty,
And nothing at all.
Perhaps it’s not bad,
When darkness revolves.
Perhaps it’s like nothing,
When nothing’s the matter.
When nothing can bother,
Then nothing’s the matter.
When nothing’s at hand,
You stand a bit prouder.
Your light shines the brightest,
When nothing’s the matter.
Hi I happen to write poetry a lot. For someone who says they aren't a poet yours is well written and thought provoking. I would have to say that nothing isn't such a bad thing at all!
ReplyDeleteThanks!!! Maybe i'll write some more.
ReplyDelete(*Snaps*)Exemplary for a novice? I'll have to purchase some refrigerator magnets.
ReplyDeleteIt flows pretty well, good use of imagery, i like the light and dark contrasts. It kind of takes the reader in, and draws them in a circle till they end up in the same place, and it does resolve itself well.
